Free Diabetes Meter System and Training

 The Health Centre Pharmacy has teamed up with Roche to provide FREE Aviva and Multiclix blood glucose meters to any Diabetic patient.
It is recognised as essential that diabetics check their blood glucose on a regular basis, ideally several times daily. Thankfully, more and more diabetic patients are using personal blood glucose meters themselves and not relying wholly on practice nurses and doctors.
Most importantly we are not simply distributing these meters. Our staff at all sites have been trained to provide instruction and guidance on the use of the meters.

Your doctor can prescribe the test strips and lancets on a standard UK NHS prescription, but not the meter, finger pricker or control solutions.
PC download facility
You can download the readings from the meter's memory directly into your PC, and show the data as graphs and charts. This gives a much better indication of how your blood glucose levels change over time, by giving you an hourly, daily, or monthly picture.The Pharmacy can also do this for you if you bring along your meter.
